Schedule a Free Consultation

For breast augmentations (breast enlargement), we offer a free 30 minute consultation with one of our medical staff. During this time, before and after photographs are reviewed with you and implant sizing is done in order to create a better focus towards the proposed results. By the time you come in for a full consultation with Dr. Pacik or Dr. Sterling, you should have a good understanding of the proposed surgery and what you can expect from it. When seen by the doctor, which essentially becomes a second consultation, additional fine tuning is done to further focus into the desired results and to give the doctor an opportunity to determine any other considerations that will be important to give you the best results. We have noticed major benefits to our patients in that the visit is scheduled at a time that one of the medical staff can spend more time with you. We urge you to take advantage of this program as it will help you achieve realistic goals. CALL TODAY: 1-800-640-0290

Breast augmentation, also known as breast enlargement and augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast. The procedure is performed to enhance the body contour of a woman who feels her breast size is too small. Other reasons for breast augmentation are to balance a difference in breast size, to help with sagging (ptotic) breasts (augmentation mastopexy) or as a reconstructive technique following breast surgery.

By inserting an implant behind each breast surgeons are able to increase a woman's bustline. After several months, scars are usually inconspicuous. Saline (inflatable) implants or silicone gel implants can be used for breast enlargement or breast deformities or in conjunction with breast lift surgery.

From Left to Right: Illustration 1: An incision can be made either underneath the breast, just above the crease, around the lower edge of the areola or within the armpit.  Illustration 2: The implant is placed in a pocket either directly behind the breast tissue (right) or underneath the pectoral muscle which is located between the breast tissue and chest wall.

The best candidates for Breast Enlargements

Breast augmentation can enhance your appearance and your self-confidence. The best candidates for breast augmentation are women who are looking for improvement, not perfection, in the way they look. If you're physically healthy and realistic in your expectations, you may be a good candidate.

Common Concerns

If a patient has any concerns about their surgery, the consultation is a good time to discuss this. Some of the more common concerns include: return to activities, the anesthetic, dying, safety of the implant, achieving the desired result, hardening of the implants and pain. When a patient has a friend who may have had considerable pain after their surgery, this naturally would have an impact on their willingness to "suffer" through the procedure. We have made considerable strides with pain control (See Resource Article on Pain after Breast Enlargement.)
