CALL TODAY: 1-800-640-0290 Breast augmentation, also known as breast enlargement and augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast. The procedure is performed to enhance the body contour of a woman who feels her breast size is too small. Other reasons for breast augmentation are to balance a difference in breast size, to help with sagging (ptotic) breasts (augmentation mastopexy) or as a reconstructive technique following breast surgery. By inserting an implant behind each breast surgeons are able to increase a woman's bustline. After several months, scars are usually inconspicuous. Saline (inflatable) implants or silicone gel implants can be used for breast enlargement or breast deformities or in conjunction with breast lift surgery.
