Every patient is somewhat different in their desires, and the tissues we have to work with vary from patient to patient. Sometimes patients present with particularly difficult problems, and it is always a learning experience to work with these individuals. We need to reach into our large bag of experience, and come up with solutions that are appropriate to the circumstances, that will give the patient the best possible result.

I continue to be a student of plastic surgery, and my patients are my teachers. Long-term follow-up is valuable in that this is one of the major ingredients in the development of wisdom. By paying attention to what works and what doesn't, we are able to support our patients through their pre-op consultations, surgery and post-op care.
